dr gOriginally from Maryland, Dr. Gordon Byers graduated from the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery at the University of Maryland…the first dental school in the world.  He moved to Vero Beach in 1974 and has been bringing smiles to generations of local families ever since.  He truly enjoys all phases of dentistry, and he attends seminars every year to stay on top of the latest techniques.  His passion for his work shines through, and his friendly and outgoing personality makes every patient feel at ease.

In his spare time, Dr. Gordon Byers can usually be found playing with his dogs or on the golf course. He also enjoys weekend motorcycle rides.

 

dr jDr. John Byers, a Vero Beach native, received his BA from the University of Florida and then attended   Tufts University in Boston earning his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He then returned home to Vero Beach, and joined his father in practice. He performs all phases of dentistry including general, reconstructive, and cosmetic. He has received advanced training in prosthetic dental implantology at the Misch International Implant Institute and is a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantology. Dr. Byers is a member of the American Dental  Association, Florida Dental Association, Local Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

When he is not in the office, he can be found playing tennis, golfing, fishing, or working out at the gym. He is an active member in the Vero Beach community and supports many charitable organizations.

Tara has been by Dr. Gordon Byers’ side for 20 years.  Her quick smile and compassionate nature make every patient feel welcome.  As a Certified Dental Assistant, Tara takes an active role in patient care as well serving as our clinical manager.

Spending time with her husband and two children is what makes Tara happiest.  With a daughter in cheerleading and a son playing baseball, Tara’s family is always on the go.  When they return home, they are welcomed by their cats, Jake and Rusty.

 

 

Whether she’s welcoming a new patient, assisting the doctor or working in the front office, Amber’s joyous spirit is sure to make everyone’s day a little brighter.  Although she began her dental career as an assistant, since joining our practice in 2014 she’s gained experience in all aspects of the dental office.

Amber and her husband welcomed their first child in 2016, and Kash has definitely inherited his mother’s personality.  In addition to enjoying family time, Amber coaches and plays rugby.

 

 

anneAnne joined our practice in 2015, bringing with her over 20 years of dental hygiene experience. She had the pleasure of working with the Board of Dentistry as an examiner, consultant and member of the Council on Dental Hygiene.

She was born and raised in Pennsylvania, and has one magnificent daughter and two wonderful granddaughters.

 

 

meghan - CopyMeghan has been a dental hygienist for four years, and she joined our team in 2015.  Her quiet manner and easy-going charm make every dental visit enjoyable.

In her time off, she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family, friends and three amazing dogs.

 

 

ellenEllen hails from Northeast Ohio, where she began her dental career almost 40 years ago. She’s been working for our office since 1981, first as Dr. Byers’ dental assistant, and now as the Patient Care Manager.  Her knowledge of all aspects of dentistry, combined with her patience and understanding, makes her the perfect patient advocate.

Ellen commutes to the office every day from Brevard County, where she lives with one of her two daughters, three dogs, two cats and one beloved snake.

 

 

 

A Florida native, Kathy has worked in the dental field for over 25 years.  She came to Byers Dental Care as a hygienist in 2004, and has been serving as the Office Manager since 2007.  Her combination of clinical experience and business knowledge gives her insight into all functions of the dental office, and is a benefit to both our practice and patients.

Kathy’s free time is spent working in animal rescue.  She runs  SouthEast Companion Animal Rescue & Educational  Services ,Inc,a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and shares her home with a variety of animals.
